„YY Oi y,4 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 440 Oil <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department operates Special Operations Ocean <br /> Safety, and uses Water Safety Officers to guard our beaches; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lifeguard Station at Spencer Beach affords minimal protection from the <br /> elements and is in need of extensive repair due to corrosion and termite infestation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Water Safety Officers need to secure Lifeguard Stations after hours to <br /> prevent vandalism and unsafe working conditions, and to inhibit occupation and use by criminal <br /> elements; and <br /> WHEREAS, the new Lifeguard Station selected will provide and clean, safe work <br /> environment due to its composition of high impact fiberglass and a stainless steel support <br /> structure, both of which will last at least twenty years, a unibody design that resists vandalism, <br /> uses a design that is widely accepted nationally, provides a professional appearance, provides <br /> exceptional security, has glare-resistent windows to provide improved area surveillance, the <br /> freestanding structure does not require an environmental impact study, and the unit provides <br /> greater protection from inclement weather for Water Safety Officers; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to <br /> the Fire Department to be used to help the Special Operations Ocean Safety Division to defray <br /> the cost to purchase, ship, and install a Surveyor Apex Lifeguard Station at Spencer Beach; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br /> FUND: General <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> <br /> APPROPRIATION: $41,000 <br /> <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-CouncilSVC-Contingency Relief $41,000 <br /> <br />
