„YY Oi y,4 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 440 Oil A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department operates Special Operations Ocean Safety, and uses Water Safety Officers to guard our beaches; and WHEREAS, the Lifeguard Station at Spencer Beach affords minimal protection from the elements and is in need of extensive repair due to corrosion and termite infestation; and WHEREAS, the Water Safety Officers need to secure Lifeguard Stations after hours to prevent vandalism and unsafe working conditions, and to inhibit occupation and use by criminal elements; and WHEREAS, the new Lifeguard Station selected will provide and clean, safe work environment due to its composition of high impact fiberglass and a stainless steel support structure, both of which will last at least twenty years, a unibody design that resists vandalism, uses a design that is widely accepted nationally, provides a professional appearance, provides exceptional security, has glare-resistent windows to provide improved area surveillance, the freestanding structure does not require an environmental impact study, and the unit provides greater protection from inclement weather for Water Safety Officers; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Fire Department to be used to help the Special Operations Ocean Safety Division to defray the cost to purchase, ship, and install a Surveyor Apex Lifeguard Station at Spencer Beach; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $41,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-CouncilSVC-Contingency Relief $41,000
