Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawai'i County Code,
which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures
of the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we
request the Council's approval of the following donation:
A monetary donation of $2,777.16 to the Department of Parks and Recreation, to be
used for materials and construction costs towards the completion of the
Kamehameha Park Basketball courts, by Mr. Hermann Fernandez, P. O. Box 293,
Hawi, Hawaii 96719.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donor.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.

A. REQUEST:
To accept and acknowledge a donation of $2,777.16 to be used towards the completion of the Kamehameha
Park Basketball courts.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Council action is being requested to accept and acknowledge a donation of $2,777.16 from Hermann
Fernandez to be used specifically for materials and contruction costs of the Kamehameha Park Basketball
courts.
