Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 192, reports as follows:
Bill No. 192, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 755,
dated October 17, 2007, amends Ordinance No. 07-83, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending
June 30, 2008, by adding the following project:
MASS TRANSIT:
Bus & Park/Ride - Kona/Puna 110.399.5399.32 $1,689,800
Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from:
General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund - $1,689,800
Fund Balance and/or Other Sources
Committee Member Pete Hoffmann requested a copy of the consultant's recommendations for the
Park and Ride sites, along with the cost for each site from Mass Transit Director Tom Brown prior
to the Council meeting. Mr. Brown stated to Your Committee that he received a list from the
Department of Finance, of County-owned parcels in which two of the parcels listed is not suitable
for sale, and that it could be used as Park and Ride sites.
Pursuant to Section 10-6(d), Hawai`i County Charter, the Council may amend the Capital Budget
for that year with atwo-thirds vote.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 192, and
recommends it pass first reading.
