Dear Chairman Hoffmann and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have reappointed the following individuals to the County of
Hawai'i Committee on the Status of Women. Both individuals are from Council District 7, and
their present terms will expire on December 31, 2007. They are both being reappointed for
another four-year term to expire on December 31, 2011.
Carol Kitaoka is a 51-year resident of Hawai'i. Since 1982, she has been a Deputy Prosecutor
with the Hawai'i County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney in Kealakekua. Ms. Kitaoka states
that she is a Democrat.
Cathryn "Katie" Nova is a 12-year resident of Hawai'i. Since 1996, she has had her own
private practice in individual, couples, group and family psychotherapy and psychological
testing. She is a member of the American Association of University Women, the Hawai'i
Psychological Association and a past member of Soroptimist International of Kona. Ms. Nova
states that she is not affiliated with any political party.
