The existing commission has had problems maintaining a quorum. With meetings closer to member's homes they will be better able to attend. . It is physically impossible for a Planning commission members to look at every property that they must vote on, which is the only way they can truly make an informed vote. . As we've seen on other issues, the problems on the West side are significantly different than on the east side of the island, such as water quality, run-off affecting reefs and fishing, traffic control and unchecked growth. Commission members can be better informed about their areas if they are able to concentrate on the east or west sides of our island. But most importantly, the voters have a chance to make their wishes heard by voting on this Charter amendment, please trust the wisdom of the citizens of the island. Sincerely, Debbie Hecht P.O.
