Aloha, Council members,
I support Bile 175 in its current form. This bill will help balance land use decision-making
power - giving people most affected by land use decisions better oversight over those
decisions. Among other reasons for passing this legislation, it will lighten the load of
decision-making for those representatives responsible for making decisions (as they are more
or less familiar with issues, depending upon their districts).
I hope that all councilmembers will understand the benefits which this bill will have for all hawai'I residents and that they will come
together to support this bill.
Mahalo to Councilperson Nao1e for being open to reconsidering this bill and to the other
council representatives who have worked so hard to help create a more fair, more ~~by the
people" democracy on our island.
