Dear Chair Pilago and members of the Hawaii council committee on planning:
Thank for the opportunity to comment on Bill 198. Since much has been discussed in
prior meetings, we wish to conununicate two brief points:
As the price of a barrel of oil exceeds previous record prices that will only
translate to higher fuel prices down the road; your decision to affect competitive
economical choices for your constituents should be weighed carefully.
The goal of providing the beneficiaries of Hawaiian Home an opportunity to
allow for dependable source of funding for its programs is a worthy and righteous
endeavor.
We look forward to the Committee's careful review of this important subject.
