RESOLUTION NO. X85 (DS
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department, through its chief of police, is
charged with preserving public peace, crime prevention, protecting the rights of persons and
property and law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the rise in general population and the visitor industry substantiates an
increase of law enforcement presence and police services within Kailua-Kona Village; and
WHEREAS, in support of accessibility to police services and crime prevention efforts
in Kailua-Kona Village, the Hawaii County Police Department has expanded services to a
new location at the County of Hawai`i's Hale Halawai facility located on Ali`i Drive; and
WHEREAS, to provide these services and commence operation of the Hale Halawai
Police Station, certain materials, equipment and supplies are necessary in order to finalize
construction; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated
to the Hawaii County Police Department to fund the purchase and installation of countertops,
to purchase office furniture and equipment, and to construct a handicap ramp at the Hale
Halawai Police Station; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
