RESOLUTION NO. ®8
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A CHLORINE RECOVERY VESSEL WITH WHEELS
AND TWO (2) CHLORINE MANUALS TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, a Chlorine Recovery Vessel with Wheels and two (2) Chlorine Manuals are being donated
to the Hawaii Fire Department by Phoenix V LLC, dba BEI Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, BEI, a distributor of pesticides, fertilizers, and industrial chemicals, has developed Risk
Management Plans to mitigate the impact of unintended chemical spills and discharges, and has developed an
Emergency Response Program with the Hawaii Fire Department Hazmat Teams; and
WHEREAS, the Chlorine Recovery Vessel and manuals, which have an estimated total value of
$4,772, will be assigned to the West Hawaii Hazmat team and .
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'1 that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Mr.
Geoffrey B. Lauer, Manager Hawaii Operations, Phoenix V LLC, dba BEI Hawaii, 430 KekOanao'a Street,
Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
