Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 445-07, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 445-07, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 846, dated December 4, 2007, authorizes the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year
for the lease of three (3) Open Top Refuse Trailers for the Deparhnent of Enviromnental
Management Solid Waste Division.
Open top refuse trailers with 102 cubic yard capacity and the ability to carry a heavier load of
approximately 20 tons, would result in a lower frequency of refuse trailers being brought to the
landfills to deposit their waste; thus reducing the fuel and maintenance costs and road congestion
on public highways.
The Solid Waste Fund does not have the resources to purchase the referenced equipment and
therefore request the authority to enter into afive-year lease agreement. The funding for this
lease is included within the current fiscal year's budget.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 445-07,
and recommends its adoption.
