Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 447-07, reports as follows:
Resolution No.447-07, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 848, dated December 4, 2007, authorizes the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year
for amulti-year lease agreement for five (5) years for an intermediate volume copier for the
Department of Environmental Management's Administration/Business Services office.
The Administrative and Business Services office staff currently shares an intermediate volume
copier and the copy volume of that copier is more than double the copy allowance of the annual
maintenance agreement. Acquiring a second copier should increase the efficiency of the office.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 447-07,
and recommends its adoption.
