No. 448-07 <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa <br /> 78-128 `Ehukai Street <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 1:39 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 448-07, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 448-07, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 849, <br /> dated December 5, 2007, authorize the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and more than one fiscal <br /> year for the multi-year lease of a warehousing and storage facility located at 550 Kilauea Avenue in South <br /> Hilo. This property further identified as Tax Map Key: (3) 2-2-010-001, is the former site of the Hawaii <br /> Hardware Store and has approximately 19,171 square feet, of which 8,181 squaze feet are part of a <br /> retail/warehouse facility. <br /> This facility provides an opportunity to establish a warehousing and storage facility in near proximity to <br /> existing County facilities. The wazehouse facility will be used 1) to house some of the new <br /> custodian/groundskeeper positions created as a result of the UPW settlement and to house four <br /> Engineering Division construction inspectors, along with their testing lab; 2) to relocate the central <br /> storeroom from the County Building; 3) to establish a centralized document managing scanning site and a <br /> paper shredding and recycling location; and 4) for storage azea for equipment, old files/records, etc. that <br /> aze taking up valuable space within existing operational facilities.
