No. 851/Bill No. 207 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa <br /> 78-128 `Ehukai Street <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> <br /> TIME: 1:39 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 207, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 207, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 851, <br /> dated December 6, 2007, amends Chapter 19, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as <br /> amended), by adding a new section to establish Real Property Tax exemption for kuleana lands. <br /> The purpose of this measure is to establish a tax exemption for properties designated as kuleana <br /> land. This measure would establish a real property tax exemption for real property zoned as <br /> residential or agricultural, any portion of which is designated as kuleana land, if the property is <br /> owned in whole or in part by a lineal descendant of the person(s) that received the original title to <br /> the kuleana land. <br /> Communication No. 851.1 submitted by Council Member K.
