RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION'T`RANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM TILE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, volunteer fire departments were created and established in Hawaii County
to train volunteers in fire prevention and control; and
WHEREAS, the Four Seasons volunteer fire station is among several volunteer fire
stations established pursuant to Article 6, Section 2-16.1, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005
Edition); and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department and volunteer fire fighters provide the
citizens ofHawai`i County with critically needed fire emergency service, public safety and
support; and
WHEREAS, fire suppression and personal protection equipment, medi-kits, uniforms,
communication devices, fire hoses, hose appliances and other fire-related materials and supplies
are essential components to adequately carry out the duties of volunteer fire fighters; and
WHEREAS, the health, safety and welfare of the various communities will be greatly served
through adequately equipped volunteer fire stations; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the
Hawaii County Fire Department's Training and Volunteer Fire program; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE TT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
