In light of the Stale Legislature's receol decisions involving the Transient Acaanmodalions "1'ax, [RS and
public employee pay raises, Bill 202, Uraf12 will need lu he amended. We would appreciate your written
reconunendations mr Bill 202, Draft 2, since the changes will aflecl your operations and ntanagemeot
decisions in an already-lean kcal year.
We are particularly interested iu the following:
What is the position or legal integn~etalion of the Administration with regards lu the Legislature's
action or inaction oo the public employee pay raises, specifically, I IGBA and UPW?
Will Iherc be sul7icient funds to cover the I IGIA cost items, approved by the l lawaii County
Couucil7
If uol, would you be Billowing the apparent lead of the state legislature and defer the appropriation
to next fiscal yea,R
What is the status and position of Adminislydioo in the UI'W negotiations?
