RESOLUTION NO. 520 08
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $2,500 TO
THE PAHALA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Edmund C. Olson Family Foundation has donated $2,500 to the Pahala Volunteer Fire
Department, which is one of many Volunteer Fire Units which operate under the direction of the Hawaii Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS, the donation was presented to Mr. Ron Ebert, Fire Chief of the Pahala Volunteer Fire
Department, to help purchase much needed protective fire gear, for that department; and in making this gift,
the donor recognizes Julia Neal, who is a staunch supporter of the Pahala Volunteer Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this monetary donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to the
Edmund C. Olson Family Foundation, 11560 Tennessee Avenue, Los Angeles, California, 90064-1513,
acknowledging this donation.
