Subject: In Support of Res. 462-08
I am writing to urge the county council to pass Res.
462-08, which supports the Ten-Year Moratorium on Developing, Testing, Propagating,
Cultivating, Growing, and Raising Genetically Modified Taro in the State of Hawai'i.
Please demonstrate to our legislature that the people believe taro should be protected
from the real and imminent threat of genetic modification, rather than the phantom threats
corporations are invoking to further their own economic interests.
