RESOLUTION NO. 522 08
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, there aze increasing numbers of hungry and homeless people in Hawaii
County; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Food Bank's mission is to prevent the waste of edible
food by storing and coordinating member agencies to efficiently distribute and serve food to
those in need; and
WHEREAS the Food Basket Incorporated/Hawai`i Island Food Bank is a program of the
Office for Social Ministry (OSM) of the Roman Catholic Church, and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit
organization; and
WHEREAS, funding will be distributed through the Food Basket Incorporated/Hawai`i
Island Food Bank's distribution network that will support 35 West Hawaii agencies that feed the
hungry and homeless; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to
the Office of Housing and Community Development for the purpose of supplementing the
supply of food to the Food Basket Incorporated/Hawai`i Island Food Bank; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Housing Adminstrator and the Director of Finance and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
