SUBJECT: Transmitting Bill 219, Draft 2, an ordinance to rename the Kona Scenic Park to
the "Clarence Lum Won Park"
Please find Draft 2 of Bill 219 that changes the name of the "Kona Scenic Park" to the "Clarence
Lum Won Park," pursuant to section 15-67 of the Code, relating to naming recreational facilities.
This draft contains amendments made by the Council's Public Safety and Parks and Recreation
Committee during its meeting on January 23, 2008.
These amendments include the following:
1. Correction in the title of Bill 219, from "The Clarence Lum Won Park" to "Clarence Lum
Won Park". This change reads as follows: (The changes to draft 1 of the bill have been
ramsayered and bolded for illustrative purposes.)
Title of Bill 219 is amended to read:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PARKS AND
RECREATIONAL FACILITY SCHEDULE, CHAPTER 15,
ARTICLE 8, SECTION 15-68.1, HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(1995 EDITION, AS AMENDED), BY RENAMING THE KONA
SCENIC PARK, IN HONOR OF CLARENCE LUM WON, ["THE]
"CLARENCE LUM WON PARK."
