According to the maintenance service provider, repair parts are becoming increasing difficult to obtain. Any breakdown would severely disrupt workflow and create work backlog for the staff. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Hawai'i Fire Department. c William 4Takaba Director of Finance APPROVED: /+larry Kim 1 Mayor Enc. cc: Fire Q,no.53?-08~ Comm. REQUEST: Please prepare a resolution authorizing the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal year for a multi-year lease of a copier for the Hawaii Fire Department. The lease would specifically be for a five (5) year lease term for an intermediate volume copier for the Hawaii Fire Department Administration Office. B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): The Hawaii Fire Department presently has an intermediate volume copier in its Administration Office, which needs to be replaced. The copier is over five (5) years old, and according to the maintenance service provider, repair parts are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain, and parts specific to the document feeder are no longer available. Fifteen (15) employees in the Administration Office utilize the copy machine and its breakdown would severely disrupt workflow and create work backlogs. We are therefore initiating the approval/procurement process now, because of the extended duration of time involved, before the equipment becomes unserviceable. SIGNED: DATE: 02/01108 D artment Head
