SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
HAILI STREET, KAPI OLANI STREET INTERSECTION
PROPOSED STOP INTERSECTION, ALL APPROACHES
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 2, Moving Vehicles
Section 24-264, Schedule 12, Stop locations, subsection (c) South Hilo be amended by adding
new item:
(__I HAILI STREET, KAPI'OLANI STREET INTERSECTION, ALL APPROACHES.
The need for this amendment is based on a request made by Officer Derr of the Hawaii County
Police Department in an attempt to increase safety for motorists and pedestrians in this area. Of
particular concern is the school activity and temporary one-way along Kapi'olani Street and the
senior citizen housing facility nearby.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendments. Should you
