SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
KAIULANI STREET AT REED'S ISLAND BRIDGE
PROPOSED YIELD TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC
We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 2, Moving Vehicles
Section 24-265, Schedule 13, Yield locations, subsection (c) South Hilo be amended by adding
new item:
KAIULANI STREET AT SOUTHBOUND APPROACH TO BRIDGE NUMBER
23-3.
The need for this amendment is based on a request made by the Reed's Island community that a
yield condition is needed due to the one-lane bridge at the south end of island. Adding the yield
sign would increase safety for motorists, particularly those not familiar with the area.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendments. Should you
