No. 916/Res. 483-08 PLACE: Council Chambers Ben Franklin Bldg., 2"~ Floor TIME: 9:35 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Your Committee on Public Works & Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred in Communication 916, regarding Resolution 483-08, reports as follows: Resolution 483-08, transmitted by Assistant Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase, via Communication No. 916, dated December 28, 2007, accepting the dedication of Road Lots "A", "B" and "C," being portions of Tax Map Key: (3)7-3-005:165, situate in Kalaoa, North Kona, County and State of Hawaii, from Kaha`olino Partners, LLC. Kaha`olino Partners, LLC, is desirous of dedicating the subject roadways, including all subdivision improvements pursuant to Condition F of Ordinance No. 02-62 to the County of Hawaii. Article XIII, § 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council may accept gifts which include the dedication of land on behalf of the County of Hawaii. There was one comment from the public regarding the proposed acceptance. Assistant Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase appeared before your Committee. Mr. Takase commented that Kaha`olino Partners, LLC met all requirements and is in full compliance according to County of Hawaii standards. Your committee members commented on this proposed acceptance. Council Member Angel Pilago added that the impact connector roads have had to public safety in Kona since their opening has been positive. Council Member Dominic Yagong questioned the process in place to assure these roads are in full compliance according to County of Hawaii standards. Mr. Takase responded that certain procedures and records track the proposed road from its beginning wail the dedication to the County.
