RESOLUTION NO. 535 U8
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Real Women Creative Writing Competition celebrates National
Women's History Month held in the month of March; and
WHEREAS, communities nationwide recognize and celebrate the lives of women of all
races, ages, cultures, ethnic traditions and ways of life; and
WHEREAS, students from Hawaii County honor the women in their family or in their
community who inspires them or who has made a difference in their lives by writing an essay
about these women; and
WHEREAS, public, private, charter, and Hawaiian immersion schools are invited to
participate in the Real Women Creative Writing Contest; and
WHEREAS, at a luncheon hosted by the Committee on the Status of Women, the
students, their "real women" nominees, their parents, teachers and principals are recognized and
honored; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the
Office of the Mayor for the Committee on the Status of Women, to be used towards the Real Women
Creative Writing Contest activities; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $3,000
CREDITED TO:
010.111.5115.20 Office of the Mayor $3,000

(Real Women Creative Writing Contest)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
forward a copy of this resolution to the Mayor and the Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
