Dear Councilmember Chung:
As a director on the board of Hawaii Island Adult Care (HIAC), I am asking for your special
attention to our application for funding from the County of Hawaii.
Our agency has a proven track record for serving the frail elderly, physically or mentally
challenged adults, and persons with Alzheimer's disease. Our programs allow these special people
to continue living at home or with family members, rather than being institutionalized. And we've
been doing this valuable work for twenty-one years.
With your support, HIAC's non-profit programs, including our day care, in-home chore
services/respite (Senior Helpers) and caregiver support, can continue in our community. This
essential funding would allow HIAC to proceed successfully in making a difference in the lives of
the individuals and families we serve.
Sincerely,
