Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 466-08, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 466-08, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 887, dated December 21, 2007, amends Salary Ordinance No. 07-76, by amending
Section 3, Rates of Compensation, deleting the Executive Pay Plan, and amending
Section 7.02(A), by establishing pay rates for the County Physicians to reflect a pay adjustment
effective December 1, 2007, which will coincide with the other executives' pay increase.
Pursuant to Article 3, Section 3-13, Hawaii County Charter, interim amendments to the
ordinance establishing the pay plan for the County, maybe by resolution of the Council provided
a revised Salary Ordinance is enacted at least once annually.
A motion to postpone was made and seconded, followed by a vote by the nine Members in
attendance to forward this measure to the next Committee on Finance meeting scheduled for
January 23, 2008.
Committee Member Bob Jacobson requested cost effective information to which Mike Ben,
Director of Human Resources, provided with regards to the number of patients that was seen
from 2003 through 2007, which totaled 4,543.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purposes and intent of Resolution No. 466-08,
and recommends its adoption.
