Chung ~ Finance Chairman, Hawaii County Council C"` County Building 25 Aupuni St. Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Dear Councilman Chung: I am a board member and vice-president of Hawaii Island Adult Care (HIAC). As such, T am asking for your assistance in funding our application to the County of Hawaii. We have experienced continued, drastic Federal and State financial cutbacks for our financially needy seniors attending our center. We need your support. Our agency has a proven track record of 21 years of excellence, serving the Erai] elderly, physically and mentally challenged adults, and persons with Alzheimer's disease in our community, here on the Big Island. Our programs allow these individuals to continue to live at home or with family, rather than being institutionalized. With your backing, the most valuable services that Hawaii Island Adult Caze provides: our day care program, in-home chore services and respite (Senior Helpers) and caregiver support to our community can continue. Your critical funding and support, will allow HIAC to continue successfully in making a difference in the lives of individuals and families we serve. Sincerely, Mele U.
