Relating To Prohibition of Smoking In Certain Places Council hearing: February 5, 2008
February 4, 2008 My name is Vailima Watson. and I strongly support Bill 224, which would
prohibit using tobacco products at all County of Hawai?i parks and beaches.
We want to change the environment, we talk about going green. Well, why not start with
ourselves. If we are not healthy then the whole concept of going green will be for who's
benefit if we are not around to enjoy it because we die from something as dangerous as
smoking. Even second smoke is more dangerous then smoking a cigratte its self.
Cigratte butts on the beaches, in our parks, is certainly not going green. They are
unhealthy, and pollute our environment.
Please accept this as written testimony in support of this bill.
