Dear Chairman Hoffmann and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Howard A. Kelly of Council District 3 to the Hawai'i County
Liquor Commission. Mr. Kelly is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i. Since 1973, he has been
employed by HELLO and is presently a construction assistant superintendent.
Mr. Kelly is a Lehua Jaycees Rooster. He is also a member of the Uila Golf Club and
the 1023 Golf Club. Mr. Kelly states that he is a Democrat. If confirmed, he will serve a
term to end on December 31, 2012, replacing Mr. Yukio Takeya, whose term expired on
December 31, 2007.
