Our after school program is proving very successful as it is educating our students of the importance of sustainability and conservation, as well as giving them a healthy alternative for after school activities. As our garden program grows, we are building wonderful community partnerships with parents, local farmers and nursery owners, other Hawai'i Island public and private schools, and non-profits as Amy Greenwell Ethnobotanical Gardens. These partnerships are only strengthening our efforts. Resolution 506-08 known as the School Garden Project will support such after school programs as the one at Holualoa Elementary and many other school gardens throughout our community. Please support this Resolution, and in doing so you will be supporting the keiki of Hawai'i Island. Mahalo nui loa!
