Subject: Sugar Mill Road
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing in support of the adoption of Sugar Mill Road by the County of Hawai'i
for traffic enforcement purposes. Sugar Mill Road is a private road that has been open to
and used by the public for many years. Although it has appropriate speed limits and stop
signs, traffic whizzes down the road at high rates of speed. Few motorists stop at the
stop signs. ATV's and other unlicensed vehicles use the road throughout the day and
night. It attracts illegal activities; a few months ago, a body was found at the end of
the road. I urge the Council to adopt Sugar Mill Road for enforcement purposes to promote
public safety.
