Aloha In regards to the Old Sugar Mill Road proposal by Mr. Yagong for the County of Hawaii to
adopt the road for traffic enforcement purposes I do hereby support that initiative or porposal. This is
from his letter to me on February 14, 2008.
As far as the County taking over the road for "dedication" of improvements and maintenance, I an
AGAINST any such proposal. There are many private roads in subdivisions in Puna that have been
established and used for sub-division puproses long before this road was made into a private
subdivision.
In fact, living in Wailea, I would like to see the county spend more funds on maintaining the old
highway that runs into Kolekole Park and into the Hakalau Gulch both raods are in need of
maintenace before they deteriorate and need extensive repairs. I hope Mr. Yagon will respond to my
request.
