RESOLUTION NO. 548 ~8
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S).
WHEREAS, Elderly Activities Division, Elderly Recreation Services (ERS) provides
individuals 55 years and older with a variety of sports, recreation, and leisure, as well as
educational and health related activities; and
WHEREAS, the goal of Elderly Activities Division, Recreation Services is to promote
health, wellness, and to assist the elderly to have busy active lives; and
WHEREAS, the Elderly Recreation Services has requested support and assistance in
purchasing stackable metal chairs with vinyl seat pads and backs for Yano Hall for the elderly to
use; and
WHEREAS, the present chairs are over thirty years old, rusting, are falling apart when
light-weight seniors sit down, have caused numerous cuts, bruises, and near falls that could be
deadly for seniors; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division for the purpose of replacing
decrepit chairs; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

010.500.5507.02 Department of Parks and Recreation $3,500

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Pazks and Recreation Director and the Director of Finance and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
