Your Committee on Public Works & Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred in
Communication 1012, regarding Bi11243, reports as follows:
Bi11243, transmitted by Council Member Dominic Yagong, via Communication No. 1012, dated
February 7, 2008, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-279, Schedule 27, of the
Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), by adding Loke Street, both sides between
Ohia Street and Miulana Place, in the Hamakua District, to Schedule 27, Relating to Pazking on
Pavement Prohibited at All Times.
There was no testimony from the public on this proposed amendment.
Council Member Dominic Yagong stated that adding Loke Street, both sides between Ohia Street and
Miulana Place, in the Hamakua District to Schedule 27 will prohibit pazking on pavement at all times
on these narrow streets. Council Member Yagong seeks the support of his colleagues on this proposed
amendment.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Bill 243, and recommends it pass first reading.
