SUBJECT: Resolution Regarding Council-Initiated Amendment to Chapter 25, Zoning Code,
Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), Relating to the
Establishment of a Superstore Zoning District
Attached for your consideration is a resolution directing the planning director and planning
commission to review and provide recommendations on an attached bill to amend Chapter 25,
Zoning Code, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended) relating to the
establishment of a Superstore Zoning District.
Pursuant to Hawaii County Code section 25-2-43(b), council-initiated amendments to chapter
25 shall be referred to the planning director and the planning commission for their review and
recommendations prior to the first reading of such an amendment.
The proposed draft bill to amend chapter 25 is attached to the resolution and labeled Exhibit "A".
Please place this matter before the appropriate committee to meet on March 24, 2008.
