Bill 257, Draft 2 is a result of amendments proposed in <br /> Communication No. 1056.2 that were duly approved by the Public Works and Intergovernmental <br /> Relations Committee (PWIRC) during its meeting on March 11, 2008. <br /> <br /> The PWIRC further amended the proposed amendments contained within Communication No. <br /> 1056.2 by: <br /> <br /> 1. Reinserting "within ten working days of receipt of the alternative language" into the <br /> first sentence of subsection (f) of section 11-4. <br /> <br /> 2. Amending section 11-7, Results of Election, to read as follows: <br /> "(a) A "no" vote shall be a negative response. A non-vote, <br /> where there is no response, shall not be counted <br /> affirmatively or negatively. <br /> (b) If a majority of the voters voting upon a proposed initiative <br /> ordinance shall vote in favor of it, the ordinance involved <br /> shall thereupon be an ordinance of the county.
