Dear Chairman Hoffmann and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have nominated Mr. Wesley Takai of Council
District 2 to the County of Hawai'i Tax Board of Review. Mr. Takai is a lifelong resident
of Hawai'i. He retired as a County of Hawai'i Real Property Tax Administrator in
December 2007.
Mr. Takai is currently a member of the Hilo Hongwangi Judo Booster Club, Waiakea
Pirates Booster Club, and the Mauka Kaumana Kumiai. He states that he is not
affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, Mr. Takai will serve a term to end on
December 31, 2012, replacing Mr. Gordon Ogasawara, whose term expired on
December 31, 2007.
