Dear Chairman Hoffmann and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Leinaala Enos of Council District 6 to the Hawai'i County
Liquor Adjudication Board. Ms. Enos is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i. She is presently
employed by the Queen Liliuokalani Children's Center as a Community Building
Facilitator IV. She is the chairman of both the Kau Community Action Team, and the
Naalehu United Methodist Church Council.
Ms. Enos recently served as a member of the Liquor Commission. Her term expired in
December, 2007. She states that she is not affiliated with any political party. If
confirmed, she will serve a term to end on December 31, 2012, replacing Stephen H.
Ono, whose term expired on December 31, 2007.

RE: Communication No. 1069: Nomination of Leinaala Enos to the Hawaii County Liquor
Adjudication Board
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Public Safety and Parks and Recreation Committee to the full Council for
immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore
advantageous that approval is granted and the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for
review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the
matter shall be referred to Public Safety and Parks and Recreation Committee for placement on
its future agenda.
