Re:Smoking Ban

Dear Mayor Kim:
As a non-smoker, I am opposed to the new smoking ban passed
for the county beaches and other public areas. I feel strongly
that there should be a designated area for anyone that chooses to
smoke. I wonder how much thought was given to people crossing the
county line at our beaches to smoke on the state side of the
shoreline, and then toss cigarette butts into the oceanM How will
that affect the fish and other sea life? What about our police officers, are there enough
of them to now be hampered with enforcing obvious non-criminal actions of
citizens? We should respect the ocean, as we do our beaches and parks, and
at the same time respect the rights of those that choose to smoke
by designating convenient areas for smoking, while respecting
those that choose not to.
