A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Taste of Puna is an annual cook-off competition that promotes and
supports the economic development of Puna products and services; and
WHEREAS, this event recognizes excellent recipes that contain products from Puna,
such as papayas, macadamia nuts, rambutan, ohelo berries, taro, local seafood, and assorted
flowers; and
WHEREAS, the Taste of Puna is coordinated by Sure Save Super Market, Ltd., a
family food business that has been servicing the community for more than 70 years; and
WHEREAS, Sure Save Super Market, Ltd., is working in partnership with various
businesses and organizations, including the Maku`u Farmers Association, a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to be contracted to the Maku`u Farmers
Association to cosponsor this year's 12~' Annual Taste of Puna, which is scheduled for
Saturday, June 21, 2008; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESQLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and the Director of Finance, and that
the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance
With the terms of this resolution.
