RESOLUTION NO. 08
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, on August 30`h and August 3151, Ka`u Preservation will be sponsoring a
large music festival in Ka`u, called "MALAMA PUNALU`U"; and
WHEREAS, there will be a host of Hawaiian musicians along with some outstanding
hula performances, and cultural practitioners who will demonstrate their knowledge and talents;
and
WHEREAS, this will be a drug and alcohol free event with strong anti drug messages
throughout; and
WHEREAS, this event will provide opportunities for our island residents and visitors to
experience the unique environment and the hospitality of the residents of Ka`u; and
WHEREAS, contingency relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to be used as a grant towards the Ka`u
Preservation for the Malama Punalu`u Festival; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

CREDITED TO:
010.161.5161.60 Dept. of Research and Development $15,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and the Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
