RESOLUTION NO. 587 08
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, since 1997, the Mobile Caze Health Project, an initiative from the Office of
Social Ministry (OSM), has provided afull-service, mobile healthcare program that provides
primazy dental, medical and social services to the homeless, low-income uninsured and under-
insuredpopulation of the Island of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, since 1997, the Mobile Care Health Project has provided dental care in over
17,000 visits, the equivalent of $1.5 million in uncompensated services; and
WHEREAS, these services are offered to those in our community who are least able to
access health caze because of financial, geographical or other obstacles; and
WHEREAS, thanks to two fully equipped vans bringing free dental services to sites in
the districts of Ka`u, Kona, North Hawaii, Hamakua, Hilo and Puna, progress has been made to
reduce the disparity in oral health access to underserved populations of the island of Hawaii;
and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to
the Office of Housing and Community Development to be used towards the Mobile Caze Health
Project; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Housing Administrator and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
