RESOLUTION NO. 598 bJ8
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the North and South Kona Community Development Plan (CDP) is nearly
complete with reports and recommendations identifying specific follow-up plans, studies, public
facilities, and infrastructure being finalized; and
WHEREAS, a financing plan matching specific needs to potential funding sources is
necessary in order for the North and South Kona Community Development Plan to materialize
into a viable community-based plan; and
WHEREAS, a financing plan would identify alternative and other innovative funding
sources as well as test the level of effort, methodology and usefulness of the findings; and
WHEREAS, a financing plan is a critical component of the North and South Kona
Community Development Plan and a useful educational tool for other Community Development
Plan steering committees in Hawaii County to utilize when finalizing their respective CDPs; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8, in combination with
existing funds budgeted to the Planning Department, will be appropriated to retain a special tax
consultant to prepare a financing plan for the North and South Kona Community Development
Plan; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Planning Director and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
