Aloha,
My name is Shiloah Pikake Watai, and I live at (Address). I am a Senior attending
Hualalai Academy and sit on the Kealakehe Neighborhood Watch board as a
Youth representative.
I and my group have returned today to continue to support the "No Smoking in
Public area's. ; Bill
Ever since our last appearance here about a month ago, we have heard pro's and
con's regarding this bill. Our adults feel that they should have designated
"Smoking " area's in our community! And yes, this is a free country!
As a child I have seen what the adult's have done with cigarettes, cigarette butts
and the damage that they have imposed upon their bodies. Some of them will
continue to smoke, while other's are trying to quit, or have already died from
smoking.
As a young adult, facing a troubled future, I want to be a role model to the
generation upcoming; My generation have been a shaky one, had it not been for
the discipline and love of my family; But I want the children today to follow my
path of "No smoking" and help their generation by supporting "Smoking Ban's in
public place's", so when they become adults, they will not have to witness a dirty,
stinky environment!
Today we will continue to support the ban, and I thank you for again providing us
with the opportunity... Next time we clean the streets picking up cigarette butts,
we hope some of you can join us!
