Relating To Smoking in Certain Places in the County of Hawaii
Second Reading , Public Hearing on Wednesday, March 12, 2008
1 support Bill 224 and strongly encourage the County Council to pass this Bill 224. My husband and I
do not smoke and we are trying to protect our children from the harmful effects of second hand smoke
as well as discourage them from ever smoking. In addition to the unsightly litter that results from
smokers at the beach there is the concern for children playing in the sand who come up with cigarette
butts in there hands. We are all also concerned about the effects of the toxic litter from cigarettes on
our marine animals. We can reduce all these exposures through Bi11224.
Please accept this as written testimony in support of this bill.
