RESOLUTION NO. 597 08
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii encourages diversified agriculture and economic
development in accord with the Department of Research and Development on the Island of
Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, "A Taste of Puna" is an annual event featuring products grown and made in
Puna by local residents while "sharing the goodness of Puna"; and
WHEREAS, "A Taste of Puna" is a series of events promoting Puna's unique culinary
talents and food products designed for the purpose of stimulating agricultural diversity through
the marketing of products produced in the district; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii through "A Taste of Puna", in partnership with the
Maku`u Farmer's Association, continues to fulfill their mission to bring out the best of Puna's
diversified agricultural industry and provide jobs which supports a growing agricultural
community; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Reseazch and Development to be used to help fund "A Taste of Puna"; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI°I that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

(A Taste of Puna)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Reseazch and Development and Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
