RESOLUTION NO. 612 OS
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, Waiakea High School's Grad Night provides a safe, secure, and
supervised celebration alternative to the traditional graduation parties that involve underage
drinking, illegal substance use, and unsupervised late-night partying that normally results in
drinking and driving, which poses a hazard to the community; and
WHEREAS, this drug-, alcohol-, and tobacco-free event provides the parents and
families of the graduates with the peace of mind that their child is in a safe and wholesome
environment after graduation; and
WHEREAS, approximately 200 graduates will attend Grad Night, which will be held
at the Hilo Yacht Club on Saturday, May 31, 2008, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following
morning; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to be used towards Waiakea High School's Grad Night;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $2,000
CREDITED TO:
010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $2,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and the Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms
of this resolution.
