RESOLUTION NO. 6C'3 (98
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, Waiakea High School Project Grad is a community based organization
comprised of Waiakea High School students and parents, school staff and alumni, and local
business establishments and organizations; and
WHEREAS, the mission of Waiakea High School Project Grad Committee is to fund
the costs of this event which promote safe haven and camaraderie for the graduating seniors
and to provide afun-filled, drug and alcohol free celebration with food, entertainment and
activities; and
WHEREAS, objectives of Waiakea High School Project Grad are to educate students
and families about the consequences of drug and alcohol use and impaired driving, and ensure
a safe and healthy alternative to the traditional graduation "party-hopping" that usually
involves drugs, drinking and driving; and
WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor is to support youth
programs which promote alcohol and drug free events including Grad Night activities; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated
to the Department of Liquor Control to help Waiakea High School defray some of the
expenses associated with this event; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred appropriated as set forth below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk-CouncilSVC-Contingency Relief $2,500
CREDITED TO:
010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $2,500

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and the Director of Finance and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms
of this resolution.
