RESOLUTION NO. 6(34 (J8
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Economic Development Board has requested funds to
conduct onsite studies for the most effective Intergraded Pest Management (IPM) methods to
treat coqui frogs in the Waiakea Uka, Pana`ewa and Keaukaha areas; and
WHEREAS, although the current studies aze ongoing, this would help integrate and
in some cases enhance current methods now being used; and
WHEREAS, the invasive species has been deemed "impossibe to eradicate" and
funding is dwindling here on Hawaii Island, with that in mind, more grass roots control
efforts are needed, along with hands on training for those residents whom will benefit from
the studies; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated
to the Office of Management to support the Hawaii Island Economic Development Board's
efforts towards the study of IPM methods to eradicate of the coqui frogs on Hawaii Island;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Mayor and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
