SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing the Director of Finance to Enter into Negotiations for the
Acquisition of the Pa`o`o Ahupua`a Parcel in North Kohala, Pursuant to Chapter
2, Article 42, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as Amended)
Attached for your consideration is a resolution authorizing the director of finance to enter into
negotiations for the acquisition of the Pa`o`o Ahupua`a parcel, Tax Map Key (TMK) 5-7-01:05,
in North Kohala.
The 2007 Annual Report from the Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources
Preservation Commission cited as top priority the purchase of the Pa`o`o property, assigning it a
91 percent criteria score.
Please place this matter before the appropriate committee to meet on April 21, 2008.
